Frankie Shin has been leading the electronic music scene in Seoul, South Korea since the early 90's. He is Korea's first internationally established dj and he continues to shape the future sounds heard in one of the world's largest metropolises. |

Frankie Shin's career began when he developed a passion for music while at high school in South Korea. His flamboyant style captivated the masses when he brought dance music to Seoul, as resident deejay at Hollywood Club. A loyal following emerged from those suffering insomnia who knew that Frankie Shin would be spinning out techno and trance in Itaewon till the break of dawn.
Seoul then began to have an influx of international deejays and Frankie Shin found himself playing with some of the best. He became strongly influenced by deejays such as Ritchie Hawtin, John Acquaviva and Dave Seaman. In the early 1990s he travelled to England, Holland and Germany taking mental notes of all that was to be seen and heard.
Back in Seoul he introduced this new genre and further honed his skills. He also continued to quench his thirst for knowledge.
His passion at the moment is minimal techno, but Frankie's love for music and his loyal followers will never be constricted to one genre. This unselfish style has influenced deejays throughout Seoul and has mushroomed a common vibe amongst the party elite and everyone that listens to dance music- "Go hard " |
